At the college level, most classes derive a final grade from numerous homework assignments, quizzes/midterms, and final exams. Normally, a professor outlines the weight of each assignment at the start of the semester. You can use the grade calculator to figure out your current grade. Then input that current grade here, with the grade you wish to obtain in the class, and finally the weight of the final exam. With this, we will calculate the minimum grade needed on your final exam (or next exam) to reach that target grade in the class.
The minimum final exam score needed is equal to the target grade, minus 100% minus the final exam weight (wfinal) times the current grade (g), divided by the final exam weight (w):
